Outdoor Club Fishing Event
The King
George Outdoor Club is interested in holding a fishing event at a private pond
in King George County on Friday May 9th at 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. In
order for this to take place we need to know how many people would be
interested and a head count of people that are sure they would come. What we don’t want
to have happen is we buy a lot of bait and have just a few show up. The number
of people that sign up by Friday morning by
7:30 with Mr. Fike will determine what bait we purchase or if we have
the event.
IF you are
interested in learning how to fish and want to give it a try, we have a nice
private pond for an evening where we can show you how to bait a hook, tie on a
hook or lure and catch a few fish. We may even have a demonstration on cleaning
fish there. If you have your own gear you can bring it. However, if you need to
borrow some gear, we have ten rods and reels that we can loan out for the
event. We plan to be fishing for bass, crappie and bluegill.
The private
pond is only going to be open from 5:30-7:30 PM on Friday May 9th IF
we get enough people signed up to come. Parents are more than welcome to come
and try to fish as well as siblings. We can have as many as 25 people that come
out to fish.
This event
is directed at those that have little or no fishing experience and want to
learn. If you have a lot of fishing experience and want to bring a friend that
does not know much about fishing OR you want to come and help those that want
to learn, you are welcome to come. Just let us know.
